This is my first time in Atlanta. Holy Moly. The food, service and ambiance were off the charts. I had the smothered wings with greens. Best. Greens. I’ve. Ever. Eaten. Will come back when I visit again. Thank you for your hospitality.

I really loved this place. The service was top notch. The menu is very creative and flavorful. I saw several things I would come back to try. This time I opted for the chicken and waffles and it did not disappoint. The chicken had flavor and the waffles were not overwhelming.

The atmosphere was laid back and enjoyable. The wait staff was welcoming and patient with myself and my friend as we figured out what we wanted. The manager came and checked in with us to make sure we were enjoying our meal and everyone was ready and looking for ways to meet our needs. Thank you for great food and great ambiance as I reconnected with a long-time friend.

Was craving some good southern flavors after moving away from my home state of South Carolina a few years ago, and I’m so glad we chose to try out Virgil’s before our flight back to the northwest. Everything was delicious, from the tea to the cornbread to the wings to the shrimp and grits. The servers (and other regular customers) were friendly and welcoming, the restaurant had a great vibe and was very clean. I will be thinking about this place for a while!

Meet my sisters for Sunday Brunch and we enjoyed it. Everything was bussin from the mimosas to the Seafood Bowl with the crab gravy . The menu and food names are catchy. Patrick was our waiter and he was on point. We were greeted when we came in the door and when we left by hostess. We ordered food Afta Church plate, Salmon croquette, Seafood Bowl, Sweet Potato waffle, and drinks that came out pretty quickly. We even ordered a to go plate for our mother Afta Church plate (4 wings, Mac & Cheese, and greens with smoked turkey). Overall I enjoyed it and will come back with my husband.

The food is truly up to Charleston, SC standards and taste. College friends from Charleston are here for the SWV/Escape concert and we stopped by Virgil’s to eat before the show. The food is delicious, really tasty well seasoned. The service is great. Everyone was pleasant and personable as were the other staff who came over to chat with us about Charleston and the other store locations in Atlanta. Our server was attentive. I would definitely recommend Virgil’s if you are looking for good down home authentic Gullah cuisine, This is my 2nd time eating at Virgil’s. I was able to eat some of the other delicious dishes the last time I dined here. We had the She Crab Soup, wings, egg rolls, catfish nuggets, house salad and cocktails.

I visited Virgil's with one of my childhood friends who was in Atlanta for a business trip. We had a table reservation, but elected to sit at the bar instead. Our server Malik was very personable and made us a couple of proper Old Fashioned cocktails, which were not on the menu. Then, he recommended our food options, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We began with the Stawtuh Sampluh, which was a nice portion of some of their popular items, including eggrolls, shrimp, fried okra, and wings. For our main dishes, we ordered Slammin' Sammen and the Afta Church Plate. The Salmon plate was delicious, and practically melted in my mouth. Every item on the plate was seasoned to perfection, and my friend was very impressed with the freshness of the fried wings, mac-and-cheese, and collard greens on his plate. I will admit that the prices were slightly high for an establishment of this category, but the family atmosphere, large portions, and unique menu were impressive. Be prepared for a little wait after 5 p.m., because this restaurant is very popular. Overall, I highly recommend Virgil's for an evening out in College Park, and I would return again for another Lowcountry culinary experience.
